Bitter is a concentrated and high alcohol blend produced with desired aromas obtained from Botanicals.

Bitters are also produced by the infusion method, which is a type of brewing.

Infusion means the method of adding flavor to a liquid with a solid substance.

There are no limits to making bitters. Any type of bitter can be made. The prescription is also up to you. Bitters; You can make bitters with an intense or mild taste profile by adjusting the ingredients, waiting time, quantity or grams of ingredients.

For example; Let's plan a bitters recipe with intense orange flavor. In this case, the name of our bitters is not aromatic bitters; There will be orange bitters.

Materials

500ml vodka

4 orange peels (we remove them with a potato peeler or a knife without getting into the white texture).

50 gr. dried orange peel

4 cloves

8 cardamoms (broken)

1/4 teaspoon coriander seeds

1/4 teaspoon allspice

2 tablespoons dense sugar syrup

How to make

We put all the ingredients except the sugar syrup in a bowl or jar and add the vodka.

Make sure that all the ingredients remain in the vodka. If necessary, you can add some more vodka for this balance.

Close the lid and leave the shaken jar at room temperature in a place out of sunlight for 15 days.

After 15 days, strain the mixture into another container or jar using cheesecloth. Make sure the ingredients are free of any botanicals and solids you add.

Add 2 tablespoons of dense sugar syrup at this stage and shake the mixture well.

You can transfer your Bitters into small bottles and start using them for recipes.

There is no specific shelf life. However, for the vividness and effectiveness of the aromas, I recommend you consume it within 1 year.
