The production of the highest quality vodka began with the use of charcoal filters. Thus, a softer drinking vodka was obtained.

Vodka became widespread outside Eastern Europe and Scandinavia after the Second World War. Vodka became famous when soldiers from different countries brought vodka back to their countries.
