Foam gives information about the quality and type of beer. The foam of quality beer consists of small bubbles and is persistent.
When the beer is poured into the glass, a certain amount of foam should form, if not this indicates that the beer is stale or the glass is dirty.
Additionally, foam prevents the beer from breathing and delays the heating time.
It starts to heat up as soon as it is poured into the glass. The reason why the beer is served in a glass with handle, chilled or shaken with cold water, is to preserve the taste and aroma of the beer while keeping it
cold.
