BRANDY

Brandy is a high-grade alcoholic beverage produced from distilled wine. In addition to wine made from grapes, it is also produced from other fermented fruits, such as apples and cherries. It is usually consumed after meals. In good quality brandies, it is the oak barrels in which they are kept that provide the color and some of the aroma.
Old Dutch sailors tried to boil the wine to prevent it from spoiling due to hot weather while transporting it on ships. They liked the dense and fragrant alcohol that emerged and started producing it by naming it Brandy, which means burnt wine.
